Search the Literature archive

Please enter your search criteria in the relevant box and click “Search”. You can choose to fill in just one or more of the fields.

The literature can be accessed:

• by author (surname only). This search facility can be used to list references published by a particular author.
• by date of publication (year). This search facility can be used to list references published in a particular year.
• by title. This search facility can be used to list references with a title containing a selected word or phrase.
• by type of publication. This search facility can be used to list all references of a particular type, e.g. journal or book. It is recommended that this selection only be used in conjunction with other search criteria.
• by keyword. This search facility can be used to search for all references on a particular topic e.g. Marine or History; a particular taxon e.g. Mollusca or Flora; a particular place e.g. Donegal or Rathlin Island; or a particular habitat e.g. Woodland. Genera and species are not normally included, with the exception of the common names for mammals, reptiles and amphibians.

Please enter your search criteria (all or part of the word) in the relevant box and click ‘Search’. You can choose to fill in just one or more than one of the fields.

If you choose the “AND” option (set as the default option) and fill in several search fields, you will get results that contain all of your criteria. For example, putting ‘Praeger’ in the author box and ‘1928’ in the year box will retrieve only those references published by Praeger in the year 1928.

If you choose the “OR” option and fill in several search fields, you will get results that contain either of your criteria. For example, putting ‘Praeger’ in the author box and ‘1928’ in the year box will retrieve a list of all references published by Praeger, and all references published in 1928.
