Distribution
Britain:
Widespread though local wih concentrations of records in parts of southern England and highland Scotland.
Ireland:
Recorded from 12 counties by Johnson & Halbert (1902). Restricted to conifers and probably very local.
Ecology
Virtually restricted to pine and seemingly commonest on the crowns of mature trees (Majerus et al. 1997). In Northern Ireland beaten from the lower branches of pines in coastal dune systems on two occasions.
