An oat-like native, perennial, grass which grows up to about 2 feet tall.
In grassland on base-rich soils, mainly near the coast, on sand dunes etc.
This species is somewhat similar to yellow oat-grass, Trisetum flavescens, but has much larger spikelets. The two species overlap in terms of habitat and geographical range.
