Like a smaller version of Gymnadenia conopsea, and with a shorter spur to the flower. Flower colour ranges from white to deep pink, or rarely, pale yellow. It grows in grassy places or in open pine woodland, usually on calcareous soils, ascending to 2500 metres altitude.
